Sprittibee is holding a contest, sponsored by Academic Superstore,  in which readers are invited to share their favorite homeschool lesson plan.  In order to keep with the theme, I’ve included my favorite lesson plan.  More importantly, however, I want to share with you my favorite lesson.

I was tagged by Sprittibee on a Homeschool Meme - here goes!

 1) ONE HOMESCHOOLING BOOK YOU HAVE ENJOYED
This year, I'd have to say "The Well Trained Mind" by Jesse Wise and Susan Wise Bauer.  I have a hard time choosing favorite books, though.  It seems my favorites are always the ones freshest in my mind.

2) ONE RESOURCE YOU WOULDN'T BE WITHOUT

Salve!  (No, not the stuff you dab on a burn, this is Latin – pronounced sahlvay – and means “Hello!”  (Salvete, if there is more than one of you reading at a time.)

It’s Saturday morning and I’m looking back at a pretty good first week of school.

Monday started strong when I got up early and made waffles for the family (including Chuck) and got the kids out of bed by 7:30 AM, dressed and fed by 8:00 AM with our first Math lesson underway by 8:15.  The kids were excited and cooperative.  We had a lot of fun digging into our new school books.

(That was the last waffle breakfast I’ll be having in a while – but you’ll have to login to the ‘Members Only’ section to find out why.)

I’d been watching Craigslist for a good deal on a used piano for several months.   Although there has been no shortage of used pianos for sale, timing has been the issue.  Either I’ve found a good deal but haven’t had the money, or had the money but couldn’t find the piano.

Well, my patience has been rewarded, because a pretty nice piano finally landed in my driveway, literally.
